Everett is grounded. ABSOLUTELY NO FALCONRY! →
Great McSweeney’s list that is all too appropriate this evening as I am babysitting on the Upper West Side at this very moment.

Trying to write today and all I can think of is this SNL clip from when Zach Galifianakis hosted a couple of weeks ago. Newsflash, I have writer’s block.

I want to go home, I miss my canopy bed.
– Donna while camping on last night’s truly amazing Parks and Recreation. She has some of the best lines in the show, even the beloved Ron Swanson.

Pete Holmes is one of my favorite comics out there. In this clip from SXSW he addresses a recent injury that led to his wearing a corrective boot. This is 100% how I feel about every time I hurt my back. Like how last fall I went to reach for my phone in my office and then magically ended up needing another spinal surgery. That’s the story.

love triangle show →
The very funny Katie Hannigan, who made an appearance at my show in March, hosts a great monthly stand-up show at Happy Ending Lounge. I did a spot there and it was a blast. She put together this little video.

– Homer Simpson
Though the show is certainly no longer in its prime, there are still some choice quotes from The Simpsons.

my brain has priorities
Erin: I mean, I do have a speaking role: "Newscaster"
Erin: A step up from "Confidence Man 2"
me: I never saw "Confidence Man 1"
me: I wonder what academic fact got pushed out of my brain so I could remember that Arrested Development quote
Erin: Probably the properties of quadrilaterals
me: I barely know what that means

drunk skills →
The Huffington Post Comedy page put together a slide-show called, “10 Things You’re Probably Better at When Drunk.” It’s full of the obvious cliches that every ‘wild night out’ movie or television episode includes: dancing, singing, taking your clothes off, hitting on others, etc. I feel they left out a few choice activities that alcohol improves:

Paul Feig Developing Comedy For Jon Hamm | LA... →
-saturdaynightlive:
In an interview with The LA Times, Paul Feig reveals that he’s developing a comedy vehicle for Jon Hamm. There’s no details beyond that, but the prospect of seeing Jon Hamm lead a comedy is worth rejoicing about.
Genius.

There are lots of things I’m not that good at: putting fitted sheets on my bed, keeping my cool while walking through crowds in the city, and, apparently, keeping up with recurring posts on blogs (see: ANY attempt I’ve made at a regular column-like the situation here or at my other blog). Well, while I’ll probably never be able to professionally make a bed (I hope) or keep it...

Jon Stewart Interviews Trey Parker and Matt Stone
In case you missed it, Matt Stone and Trey Parker were on The Daily Show last night, where they had a delightful chat with Jon Stewart about The Book of Mormon.
Just three of the best dudes out there.
I know Jon Stewart saw the show on Tuesday because WE WERE AT THE SAME SHOW. And I completely agree with his comments. ...

twitter to solve women in comedy problem →
Read this incredible piece, posted on WitStream today, about the way that Twitter can help change the constantly controversial state of ‘women in comedy.’ I wholeheartedly support this idea and think that Twitter is a great resource for all comedians, but especially for women.

Jason Bateman Knows The ‘Arrested Development’ Movie’s Plot, Says It’s ‘Incredible’ » MTV Movies Blog
“I really hope he finishes it soon so we can have a shot of doing it before the end of the year.”
Thrilled about the prospect of the movie happening this year, but also just happy to have an excuse to post a video of Jason Bateman.

BOOK OF MORMON WAS GREAT
Go see it. If you aren’t in New York, get here. Seriously, it is the best thing I have seen in a long time, maybe ever (well, with the exclusion of my own stand-up, obviously).
